Mayor Fred Eisenberger has this to say:

As the Mayor of the City of Hamilton, I am honoured to support Hamilton’s bid to host the 2022 Canadian Youth & Open Chess Championships.

Hamilton has a rich history of hosting many successful conferences and events including the 2017 Ontario Coaches Conference, 2018 Canada vs Germany Women's International Soccer Match, and the 2019 Canadian Little League Championships.

Hamilton has been undergoing a headline-making transformation that’s drawn national and international attention. From our downtown revitalization to our thriving culture and culinary scene to the stunning nature that surrounds us on all sides, Hamilton really is an ideal event destination we would be proud to share with your delegates.

Our easy to reach, central location, within an hour’s drive to major cities like Toronto and Niagara Falls, means convenient access as well as additional nearby sites for your event participants to enjoy.

On behalf of the City of Hamilton, I want to sincerely thank you for your consideration of our formal bid to host the 2022 Canadian Youth & Open Chess Championships. We look forward to welcoming your attendees to our wonderful city.

Yours Sincerely,

Fred Eisenberger

Mayor
